Aleksandra Kalisz is a contemporary Polish artist and painter who currently lives and works in Portugal. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk, and has participated in artistic residencies and exhibitions internationally, including in Morocco, Germany, Spain, and Belgium.
Her works mainly focus on the female figure and explore themes of femininity and contemporary female aesthetics, combining traditional techniques with a modern approach. Aleksandra works with painting, drawing, and installation, often integrating the feminine act with ornamental motifs. She is also a PhD candidate at the University of Porto, where her research investigates the concept of femininity in contemporary visual arts, informed by culture, media, psychology, and female identity.
Her paintings and drawings have gained recognition both in Poland and abroad, appearing in private collections across various countries including the US, Germany, Denmark, and Morocco. She has been a finalist in multiple competitions and received distinctions like the Center of Contemporary Art in Toruń award and the Biafarin Award for young artists in Canada.

In 2014, she was a scholarship holder of the LPP Erasmus programme at the Universidad Complutense in Madrid. In 2017, she participated in an artist residency in Marrakesh. She has taken part in numerous group exhibitions in Poland and abroad. She works with painting, video and artistic textiles. Her works focus mainly on the female nude in combination with ornaments.
