JAN KANTY PAWLUŚKIEWICZ
senses, beings, dreams
paintings exhibition
Galeria Sztuki Katarzyny Napiórkowskiej
Warsaw, ul. Świętokrzyska 32
Jan Kanty Pawluśkiewicz is a talented artist with a unique personality. He is known mainly as a composer but also paints and draws. He graduated from the State Music School and studied at the Faculty of Architecture of the Krakow University of Technology. His collaboration with Marek Grechuta resulted in timeless songs that have become classics of popular music and poetic songs in Poland. His achievements brought the artist numerous awards, including the Gloria Artis Gold Medal for Merit to Culture and the Officer’s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta.
Jan Kanty’s works have been exhibited in Poland and abroad, including in Belgium and Italy.
Pawluśkiewicz is the author of many paintings and graphics, and his work has been described as a combination of “contemporary extravagance with classic elements”. His works are characterized by rich colours and fanciful themes, in which the artist gives space to the free play of imagination and associations. The artist uses a unique, original painting technique known as ‘gel art’ ( żel art).
The exhibition of Jan Kanty Pawluśkiewicz at the Katarzyna Napiórkowska Art Gallery will include several dozen of the artist’s latest works. Senses, beings, dreams – these are the sources of the artist’s imagination and creativity. Painting is a way to give your thoughts – joys and anxieties – a visual form. Senses, beings, dreams – this is how the unsaid, unknown, existing or not, is transforming into materiality. Into an image.
The exhibition will run from December 5 to 19, 2024
