JULIA MARCHLEWSKA
JULIA MARCHLEWSKA (born 2001) studies paintings at the Faculty of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk.
She took part in numerous group exhibitions organized by the Alma Mater, among others.
In her work, she tries to present traditional motifs in a modern way, appreciating classical painting techniques, especially detailed studies of still life. Balancing on the border of geometric abstraction and realism, she creates compositions from objects saturated with vanity symbolism.
She enters into dialogue with old masters, unafraid of contemporary expression and colour palettes.
She tries to encourage the viewer to reflect using systems of codes and meanings contained in the compositional solutions of painting.
