TOMASZ MISTAK & BARBARA HUBERT

MYSTICAL LANDSCAPES

Exhibition of the paintings by two contemporary Polish artists: Tomasz Mistak and Barbara Hubert. Artists focus on the landscape, trying to explore its contemplative nature. The process of painting as well as mere watching ready canvases becomes a form of a meditation over the inner strength of the nature.

Tomasz Mistak (born 1978) In 2005 he obtained a diploma in the painting studio of professor Stanisław Białogłowicz at the Institute of Fine Arts of the University of Rzeszów. He practices easel painting, mainly acrylic on canvas. Member of the Union of Polish Visual Artists. Winner of several awards. Among others, Mistak was  shortlisted for the “Painting of the Year 2002” competition organized by the journal Art & Business, Warsaw and he was finalist of the 24th Festival of Polish Contemporary Painting in Szczecin.

Barbara Hubert (born in 1974)
In 1999 she graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. She studied at the atelier of prof. Stanisław Rodziński and prof. Leszek Misiak.
As the artist often emphasizes, she tries to paint a better side of life, to expose more colourful moment of our reality and to paint in such a way that the viewer could feel the temperature, smell and taste the small slice of the world which she presents on the canvas.
