WALERIA MATELSKA (born 1994 in Belarus)
In 2012-2015 she studied at the Faculty of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow and in 2015-2018 at the Faculty of Painting at the Academy of Fine Art in Warsaw. She graduated in 2018. In 2018, she was shortlisted for  the Eibisch Prize Competition, in which she received an honorary mention.
Her works have been exhibited at several individual and collective exhibitions.

In my paintings, I use a minimalist, simple form, to look for answers to philosophical and existential questions. I focus on presenting the spiritual journey that a person, as a conscious being, goes through the whole life. Objective reality does not exist; man should constantly examine his “inner demons” in order to consciously manage his life as much as imagination and reality allow. Studying feelings brings us closer to understanding our origins and comprehending the possible consequences of actions under the influence of emotional and emotional impulses. Being aware of this fact can help us find our own way of life. I want to make the viewer feel encouraged and empowered.
