The Young At Art exhibition at the Katarzyna Napiórkowska Gallery in Brussels showcases the work of four artists from leading Polish art academies: the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław, the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice, the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk, and the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw.

The exhibition is part of the programme of the Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

The Young at Art exhibition features the work of Hanna Ilczyszyn (Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław), Klaudia Lata (Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice), Marta Rynkiewicz (Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk) and Joanna Woyda (Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw).

Each of the artists represents a different visual language, and their individual formal and thematic explorations create a polyphonic narrative about contemporary art. The exhibition showcases current creative trends, revealing both diversity of attitudes and common themes, such as the exploration of identity, memory, relationships with the environment and intimacy.

Hanna Ilczyszyn
Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław
Hanna Ilczyszyn (born 1984) is a graduate of painting at the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław and KASK in Ghent. Her works have been presented at numerous individual and collective exhibitions in Europe, Asia and the USA. Hanna Ilczyszyn’s work is characterised by a subtle interplay between motifs drawn from reality and imagination. Ilczyszyn explores themes related to childhood, memory and the process of growing up.

Klaudia Lata
Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice
Klaudia Lata (born 1993) is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice, where in 2017 she defended her diploma with honours in the painting studio of Prof. Ireneusz Walczak and obtained an additional diploma in drawing in the studio of Prof. Janusz Karbowniczek. The artist obtained a doctorate in the arts at her alma mater. Klaudia Lata was a scholarship holder of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage and the Rector of the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice. Her rich oeuvre includes individual exhibitions – among others ‘Niekobieta’ (Non-Woman), “Bezwład” (Inertia) and ‘Re_sublimacja’ (Re_sublimation) – as well as participation in over twenty group exhibitions in Poland, Moldova and Russia, and numerous awards in art competitions. In her artistic practice, Klaudia Lata focuses on analysing the interaction of light and colour. Her works often balance on the border between painting and installation, as large-format canvases form spatial arrangements. Lata is interested in the ephemerality of phenomena, and her painting reflects spectacular changes in light.

Marta Rynkiewicz
Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk
Marta Rynkiewicz (born 1983) graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk in 2009, obtaining a diploma under the supervision of Prof. Jerzy Krechowicz and an annex in painting under Prof. Henryk Cześnik. In 2007/2008, she studied at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan. Her works have been presented at numerous individual and collective exhibitions in Poland and abroad, including in Brussels, Warsaw, Sopot, Olsztyn and Krakow, and her paintings can be found in the collection of the National Museum in Gdańsk, among others. Marta Rynkiewicz explores dreamlike visions in her work, creating fantastical spaces. She often uses recognisable architectural and landscape motifs, which become a pretext for reflections on places and transformations, the fabric of dreams and memories.

Joanna Woyda
Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw
Joanna Woyda (born 1981) graduated from the Faculty of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, where in 2005 she defended her diploma with honours in the studio of Prof. Wiesław Szamborski and in graphic arts under Prof. Rafał Strent. She was a scholarship holder of the Minister of Culture. She is the winner of significant awards, including the Grand Prix of the Franciszka Eibisch Foundation, and her works have been presented at many individual and collective exhibitions in Poland and abroad. Joanna Woyda creates works in two main series: ‘Beach’ and ‘Warsaw’. By stripping her compositions of unnecessary elements, she reduces the depicted space to almost an abstraction. She makes the landscape surreal while showing attention and sensitivity towards the characters in her works. Her painting is distinguished by its poetic nature and focus on the emotional dimension of everyday life.

The exhibition ‘Young at Art: Polish Emerging Artists in Brussels’ ,organised by the Katarzyna Napiórkowska Gallery, aims to present Polish artists on the international stage within the context of European cultural cooperation during the Polish Presidency of the Council of the EU.

The exhibition is part of the programme of Katarzyna Napiórkowska Gallery in Brussels, which promotes the work of Polish artists in Belgium. Among the artists presented so far at Katarzyna Napiórkowska Gallery in Brussels are Antoni Fałat, Józef Szajna, Magdalena Abakanowicz and artists of the younger generation, finalists of the Best Diplomas competition from Polish art academies. The gallery has also hosted exhibitions of the winners of the Franciszka Eibisch Foundation.

Katarzyna Napiórkowska’s Art Gallery was established in Warsaw in 1991, and since 2011 it has also had a branch in the historic and museum centre of Brussels – in the Mont des Arts district.

L’exposition Young At Art à la Galerie d’art Katarzyna Napiórkowska à Bruxelles présente les œuvres de quatre artistes issues des plus grandes écoles d’art polonaises: l’Académie des Beaux-Arts Eugeniusz Geppert à Wrocław, l’Académie des Beaux-Arts à Katowice, l’Académie des Beaux-Arts de Gdańsk et l’Académie des Beaux-Arts de Varsovie.

L’exposition s’inscrit dans le cadre du programme de la présidence polonaise du Conseil de l’Union européenne.

L’exposition Young at Art présente les œuvres de Hanna Ilczyszyn (Académie des Beaux-Arts Eugeniusz Geppert de Wrocław), Klaudia Lata (Académie des Beaux-Arts de Katowice), Marta Rynkiewicz (Académie des Beaux-Arts de Gdańsk) et Joanna Woyda (Académie des Beaux-Arts de Varsovie).

Chacune des artistes représente un langage visuel différent, et leurs recherches formelles et thématiques individuelles créent un récit polyphonique sur l’art contemporain. L’exposition présente les tendances et les stratégies créatives actuelles, révélant à la fois la diversité des attitudes et les thèmes communs, tels que l’exploration de l’identité, de la mémoire, des relations avec l’environnement ou de l’intimité.

Hanna Ilczyszyn
Académie des Beaux-Arts Eugeniusz Geppert de Wrocław
Hanna Ilczyszyn (née en 1984) est diplômée en peinture de l’Académie des Beaux-Arts Eugeniusz Geppert de Wrocław et du KASK de Gand. Ses œuvres ont été présentées dans de nombreuses expositions individuelles et collectives en Europe, en Asie et aux États-Unis. L’œuvre de Hanna Ilczyszyn se caractérise par un jeu subtil entre des motifs tirés de la réalité et de l’imaginaire. Ilczyszyn explore des thèmes liés à l’enfance, à la mémoire et au processus de maturation.

Klaudia Lata
Académie des Beaux-Arts de Katowice
Klaudia Lata (née en 1993) est diplômée de l’Académie des Beaux-Arts de Katowice, où elle a obtenu en 2017 un diplôme avec mention. L’artiste a obtenu le titre de docteur en arts dans son université d’origine. Klaudia Lata a été boursière du ministre de la Culture et du Patrimoine national et du recteur de l’Académie des Beaux-Arts de Katowice. Elle a fait quelques expositions individuelles, notamment « Niekobieta », « Bezwład » et « Re_sublimacja ». Ella a aussi participé à plus de vingt expositions collectives en Pologne, en Moldavie et en Russie. Elle a reçu quelques prix dans des concours artistiques. Dans sa pratique artistique, Klaudia Lata se concentre sur l’analyse de l’interaction entre la lumière et la couleur. Ses œuvres se situent souvent à la frontière entre la peinture et l’installation, car ses toiles grand format composent des arrangements spatiaux. Lata s’intéresse à l’éphémère des phénomènes, et sa peinture reflète les changements spectaculaires de la lumière.

Marta Rynkiewicz
Académie des Beaux-Arts de Gdańsk
Marta Rynkiewicz (née en 1983) a obtenu son diplôme à l’Académie des Beaux-Arts de Gdańsk en 2009, sous la direction du professeur Jerzy Krechowicz, ainsi qu’une annexe en peinture auprès du professeur Henryk Cześnik. En 2007/2008, elle a étudié à l’Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera à Milan. Ses œuvres ont été présentées lors de nombreuses expositions individuelles et collectives, notamment à Bruxelles, Varsovie, Sopot, Olsztyn et Cracovie, et ses peintures font partie, entre autres, de la collection du Musée national de Gdańsk. Dans son œuvre, Marta Rynkiewicz explore des visions oniriques, créant des espaces fantastiques. Rynkiewicz utilise souvent des motifs architecturaux et paysagers reconnaissables, qui deviennent un prétexte à la réflexion sur les lieux et les transformations, le tissu des rêves et des souvenirs.

Joanna Woyda
Académie des Beaux-Arts de Varsovie
Joanna Woyda (née en 1981) est diplômée de la faculté de peinture de l’Académie des Beaux-Arts de Varsovie, où elle a obtenu en 2005 un diplôme avec mention du doyen dans l’atelier du professeur Wiesław Szamborski et en arts graphiques auprès du professeur Rafał Strent. Elle a été boursière du ministre de la Culture. Elle a remporté des prix prestigieux, dont le Grand Prix de la Fondation Franciszka Eibisch, et ses œuvres ont été présentées dans de nombreuses expositions individuelles et collectives en Pologne et à l’étranger. Joanna Woyda crée des œuvres dans deux cycles principaux : « Plaża » (Plage) et « Warszawa » (Varsovie). En dépouillant ses compositions des éléments superflus, elle réduit l’espace représenté à une quasi-abstraction. Elle rend le paysage irréel, tout en manifestant attention et tendresse envers les héroïnes et les héros de ses œuvres. Sa peinture se distingue par son caractère poétique et l’accent mis sur la dimension émotionnelle du quotidien.

L’exposition organisée par la Galerie d’art Katarzyna Napiórkowska a pour objectif de présenter les artistes polonaises sur la scène internationale, mais aussi de renforcer la position de la Pologne dans le contexte de la coopération culturelle européenne pendant la présidence polonaise du Conseil de l’UE.

L’exposition s’inscrit dans le programme de la Galerie d’art Katarzyna Napiórkowska à Bruxelles, qui promeut les artistes polonais en Belgique. Parmi les artistes présentés jusqu’à présent à la Galerie d’art Katarzyna Napiórkowska à Bruxelles, on trouve notamment Antoni Fałat, Józef Szajna, Magdalena Abakanowicz et des artistes de la jeune génération, finalistes du concours «Meilleurs diplômes des écoles d’art polonaises ». La galerie a également accueilli des expositions des lauréats de la Fondation Franciszka Eibisch.

La galerie d’art Katarzyna Napiórkowska a été fondée à Varsovie en 1991 et possède depuis 2011 une succursale dans le centre historique et muséal de Bruxelles, dans le quartier du Mont des Arts.
